Ok wow. This is just beautiful and such deep and good insights. It reminds me of the psalm that says “glorify the Lord with me; let us exalt His name together!” That is the theme I pray for my marriage.
I got curious about what the hebrew word for "together" is and if it actually translates 1:1 in english - turns out, "yachad" means together in a unified way, as in, "as one", which is not what "together" always means! so it's like that psalm already repeats what Paul means by equally yoked!
This made me pause. There’s something very beautiful in the way you describe desire not as something to acquire, but as something that moves us, something that transforms us in the process of seeking. I especially felt the idea that the treasure isn’t the thing itself, but who we become while moving toward it. It shifts the whole perspective — from chasing, controlling, expecting… to being in relationship with what draws us. And that feels much more alive. And the image of two people not chasing each other, but moving toward the same point, the same meaning — that stayed with me. It feels true in a deeper way, beyond just relationships.
congratulations on getting married. i also get married in a month and this article was a beautiful reminder and reaffirmation on my desire to be married to the love of my life. ❤️
